!!!DOUGLAS TASKMASTER AIR CRAFT TUG !!!
Here we have a 1971 Douglas Taskmaster aircraft tug based on a David Brown 990 selectamatic tractor. This was built at David brown tractors in Meltham as a skid unit then went to Douglas at Nottingham for final assembly. This is ex Royal Air Force with 1320 hours, fully road registered as a historic/vintage tractor. V5c present. 25mph road speed with a 6 speed crash box. Twin plate clutch (no torque converter). This machine has been well looked after, it’s had new battery, Dynamo, control box, new ignition switch and new head lights. It’s had the engine oil sump mucked out. Serviced ready to go with fresh antifreeze at a 50/50 mix. New fan belt and water pump and radiator flushed. Engine is very strong with minimal breathing. Good oil pressure hot and cold, oil and water in the right places no cracks in the block. Doesn’t use oil, has done a few 60 mile round trips with no issues at all. Seats 6 people (2 in cab 4 on the back). Ideal for road runs or just a family run out to the pub, or if you’ve got a plane to move? Front brakes and suspension (front brakes did work but aren’t anymore due to been sat I think) rear brakes and hand brake work well. Has been repainted in the past (not concourse but it’s kept the rust away) has been on display in the last 2 years in the David brown tractor club museum. Drives well starts well, ready to play with. There no paperwork to back up it’s history but apparently it saw action in the falklands war. Nice rare machine for a show or museum or your own private collection. The asking price is 5k Ono NO VAT. Open to sensible offers.
No warranty implied or given.
10% non refundable deposit required to hold. The tractor and must be paid in full, and collected within 14 days or else it’ll be re-listed unless agreed otherwise.
